I like that Harry Groener and Terrence Mann were together during the choir and the last part :) I love them both to pieces. I so wish they had choose to work in movies instead, that way I could see more of them and most of all because they are incredibly talented underrated actors and they deserved much better.

This is the cast that ALW should have professionally filmed and released on video.

What the hell is this choreography she's doing at the start? Mr. Bennett would be turning over in his grave if he saw this.

Pretty good. No backbends at the end (double pirouettes down the line usually followed up with backbends); not a fan of long hair on Cassie (personal preference; makes Cassie look too young/unsophisticated); tempos are crazy; still a huge fan of Laurie Gamache's attack at the end.

I love that even though it's changed there's still bits of the old choreography, and the iconic Rumple jumping into Mungo's arms on his hip is still the same. Also there's something to say about the movie using this version of the music rather than the version most people are used to (this whole thing is in 4/4 while the version from at least 83 on ward has parts that are in 7/8). I think that they could have made it work in the movie but something wasn't communicated properly and this song was sorta killed in the movie. Sad because I quite enjoy this recording

It's incredible that this even exists. It's incredible that it looks and sounds as good as it does. It's incredible it's made it to the internet. And most incredibly of all is the fact that after 40 years, the costuming and choreography are almost exactly the same. Incredible stuff

The lovely Bonnie Langford! A great talent in British Theatre and TV - she was even in the film of Bugsy Malone. She was totally made for the original production of CATS. Think of the talent in that first cast - Bonnie, Wayne Sleep, Sarah Brightman, Brian Blessed, Paul Nicholas... the list goes on. The original London production was the only place to see CATS. It has become so ‘Disneyfied’ over the years people think the original costumes are too strange. I love how abstract they used to look before the whiskers and tons of greasepaint.

Lucky enough to have caught it on Broadway........there was a rather peculiar " erotic number" starring Ann Reinking.....Called The Dream Barre, being rather young ..... i was....uhm, taken aback...? Later when i saw All that Jazz, i thought, uhmmmm, must have been a dry run for the Air-otica number in the movie...... Anybody remember that number or have any footage of it? It was definitely " ow here goes the matinee crowd" material.....even if i did see it on a matinee!

I remember watching this programme when it aired! I had just turned 18 at the time, and watching this little segment of CATS was the beginning of my love affair with this amazing musical. I immediately went out and bought the double cassette tape of the Original London Cast, and until about 2000 played it to bits everywhere, especially in the car. When it died I bought the double CD and now it resides on the USB stick I keep in the car. What I love about the original cast is that they peformed this song exactly how they sang it on stage - sheer professionalism.

The Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer routine has changed quite a bit from the original cast. So has the tune they sing. It's much more athletic than it was originally and the tune is more robust.
